Woore Council has co-opted Colin Hamilton and Dot Beeston on to the council following the resignation of Helen Blake and Althea Allison earlier this year.

This brings the parish council up to 9 Councillors, with one vacancy remaining.

Cllr Hamilton has lived in Woore since 1991, giving him time to appreciate the pleasures of the community and the surrounding countryside and, at the same time, to understand the impending pressures imposed by HS2 and increased traffic flow through the Parish.

After 18 years in the neighbouring village of Loggerheads, Dot Beeston joined family in Woore in 2018 following early retirement and is keen to do more to ensure that the community continues to build on its facilities whilst maintaining the beautiful village environment.

Woore Parish Council Chairman, Michael Cowey, said: “We are delighted to welcome Colin and Dot into our team and look forward to benefiting from their experience.”
