There will be a lot said about the passing of the Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday, and the accession to the throne of King Charles III. Everybody will have their memories and personal feelings at this time.

In respect of the Queen and during the period of mourning, the Parish Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday 14th September will be postponed to a later date.

The scheduled Councillor Surgery will still take place on Saturday 10th September from 11am to 1pm in the Cross Park Pavilion, where the cafe will be operating if any residents want to discuss any local issues.

Preparations are being made for the Chair of the Parish Council to make the official Proclamation which needs to after 3:15pm on Sunday or on Monday. Details will be confirmed tomorrow (Saturday)..

A book of condolence is available in the church and at several Medway Council locations Gun Wharf, Community Hubs at Chatham, Giillingham, Hempstead, Rochester, Strood & Twydall, and Rainham and Hoo Libraries. Any floral tributes can also be laid at the official locations and it was the wish of Her Majesty that these be bio-degradable so they can be composted to aid the planting of trees in her memory. There is an online book of condolence.
