Letter sent to Borden Parish Council from Borden Sports Association:

On behalf of Borden Sports Association Committee, I would be grateful if you would be good enough to pass on our sincere thanks to all members of Borden Parish Council who have kindly voted to fund the numerous building improvement projects that have been carried out on the Sports Pavilion over recent months.

Looking back It wasn't that long ago that due to funding and lack of investment, that the Pavilion had deteriorated into a poor state of repair, and was only being used by the Village Cricket Club and the Football Club purely for sport Although Borden Sports Association does act as custodians of the building, we do struggle financially as the only income that the BSA receives are from pitch fees levied on BVCC & BVFC which are very reasonable but only sufficient to cover expenses such as utility bills and leaves little or nothing for any serious capital expenditure

Having regard to the foregoing, the projects that the BPC have funded has now resulted in other groups associated with the village requesting to use the facility, and for which the BSA in turn generally receive a donation which is a welcome and additional income towards our overheads

All members of Borden Sports Association, together with the Cricket Club and the Football Club are delighted that we now have a building to be proud of, and can assure the Parish Council that every effort is being made to look after the facility, so as all users can enjoy the benefits that the building has to offer

Thanks once again,

Kind Regards,

Roger Pudner

Hon. Sec.
