Weds 5th October 2022 and Boroughbridge Community Larder has now been open for exactly 6 months. That is one milestone but even bigger than this is that we have now kept 7 tonnes of surplus food from going to landfill. What an achievement!!!! We are doing our bit to help the environment.

The success of the Community Larder is down to many people: the retaillers who donate their surplus food - Morrisons Community Champions, Booths, Fink, Great Ouseburn Village Shop & Post Office, Minskip Farm Shop; the allotment society who deliver their windfall and glut of fruit & veg; the local householders who bring in the tins & packets they no longer need; Boroughbridge Methodist Church who have kindly provided a room in which to house the Larder; the church ladies who provide teas & coffees; all of our 37 volunteers who run the Larder and of course our lovely visitors.

Thank you everyone!
