Buckland Amenities Group
Help Needed
"As was agreed in the last BAG meeting (you can read all about it in the minutes) I am trying to set a date for us to all join in the digging of holes for the fence posts to shore up the playing field fence. We need as many new posts as possible but each hole takes about 45 minutes to dig by hand. So the more help the better. Following this message I’ll put up a poll with three Saturday mornings in March" - Chris D.
See B.A.G. WhatsApp group for the poll or contact Chris.
14th, 21st or 28th March.
The BAG meets every six weeks or so (an absolute minimum of 6 six times per year) at the village hall. The next meeting will be
Tuesday 21st April 2026 7:30pm at the Village Hall.
All meetings are open - this isn’t a group with a formal membership. So anyone, who has got a suggestion and wants to contribute to the village amenities - you are welcome.
Here are some of the projects the Amenities Group are working on:
- Playing field maintenance

There have been many other projects proposed to the BAG and if anyone wants to come a BAG meeting and champion one of these amenities, or has another idea the BAG door is open. Below is a list of ideas proposed but not progressed:
- A full-blown community shop.
- A shared village fruit and veg garden.
- Sharing local skills in arts and craft and design.
- Other interest groups: yoga, gardening, a walking club, a running club, children’s clubs, sports training, photography, art.
- A village stargazing group.
- Communal childcare and/or a babysitting circle.
- Also other events, most particularly a Christmas tree festival such as there used to be.
