THE OUTDOOR BOWLING SEASON
IS COMING TO AN END
FOLLOWING THE COMPLETION OF THE FIRST FULL PLAYING SEASON SINCE 2019 WE MUST ANNOUNCE THE GREENS WILL CLOSE FROM MONDAY 19 SEPTEMBER 2022.
THE FINAL ROLL UP WILL TAKE PLACE ON SUNDAY THE 18th SEPTEMBER.
Welcome to Chester-le-Street Bowling Club
for the start of the 2022 season.
The greens have been closed since Sunday 19th September 2021, so we are delighted to announce we can now have access from Easter Monday. Please see our latest news for further details. We are a very friendly club dating back to 1934 with both male and female members and we are always looking to recruit new members.
Why not come along to our twice-weekly "Roll-Up" on Fridays and Sundays 10am 'til noon during the playing season.
Our clubhouse is located within Riverside Park, Chester-le-Street with a backdrop of the magnificent Lumley Castle, and the River Wear flowing close by.
The club will compete in 3 leagues in 2022:
- Monday Pelton Fell & District League
- Tuesday Durham County Bowling Federation Veterans Section (Central Division)
- Thursday Sunderland & District Bowling Association - Howey League
The club also shares its facilities with the Durham Croquet club .
Streets in the residential areas near the park are now designated as "Residents Only Permit".
Visitors should therefore park in the Riverside car park for which charges apply.
Please note the car park can be very busy during school holidays or when there is a cricket match on.
