We are a very friendly club dating back to 1934 with both male and female members and we are always looking to recruit new members. Why not come along to our weekly "Roll-Up" on Sundays 10am 'til noon during the playing season.
The club is open to members and non-members for casual bowling between April and September around 1pm 'til 3pm weekdays (weather and green condition/availability permitting).
Our clubhouse is located within Riverside Park, Chester-le-Street with a backdrop of the magnificent Lumley Castle.
The club will compete in 4 leagues in 2019:
- Monday Pelton Fell & District League
- Tuesday Durham County Bowling Federation Veterans Section (Central Division)
- Wednesday North West Durham League
- Thursday Sunderland & District Bowling Association - Howey League
We also run Open Pairs & Open Triples competitions as well as Open Days.
The club also shares its facilities with the Durham Croquet club .
