The Edingley Old Schoolroom Annual Daffodil Festival was the setting on Saturday 18 March for the presentaion of the 2016 Valerie Gillespie Award, The Old Schoolroon won the award - a brass plaque and a cheque for £150 for being the best community project to improve the local environment. The Old Schoolroom had a wooden structure at its rear which had rotted away over the years and finally fell down in a storm. The local community have raised money to build a new rear extension which has enabled the Old Schoolroom to become a suitable village hall for various activities. Fund rasing efforts have included quiz nights, apple pressings, coffee mornings , daffodil festivals and craft fairs.
