Quarry at Barton in Fabis

The small community of Barton-in-Fabis find themselves once more threatened by an enlarged quarry planning application for the extraction of sand and gravel.

The site was removed from the previous Notts County Council minerals plan but since the change of regime at County Hall, the site has re-emerged. However, there is still no agreed minerals plan and it seems wrong to proceed with plans for individual quarries until all possible quarry sites have been considered as part of a proper county-wide plan.
