    The notice below has just been issued by Nottinghamshire County Council:

    In accordance with Regulation 27 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012, this statement gives notice that Nottinghamshire County Council is withdrawing the Nottinghamshire Minerals Local Plan which had been submitted to the Secretary of State for Examination.

    Nottinghamshire County Council resolved at its meeting on 25 May 2017:

    1. That the County Council withdraws the draft Minerals Local Plan from Examination.
    2. That officers are instructed to carry out an immediate review of the methodology used to assess need for aggregates in the draft MLP taking into account the most up to date data available.
    3. That officers are instructed to prepare for the submission of a revised draft Minerals Local Plan.

    A copy of the full report can be viewed as part of the agenda documents for the 25 May meeting on the Council website at www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk.

    A timetable for preparing and submitting a revised Local Plan will be published, when approved, at: www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/minerals.

    CPRE Nottinghamshire has made various comments on the proposed minerals plan. We have serious concerns about a number of the sites proposed for quarries. We shall watch developments closely.
