Denmead Horticultural Society Home

This month’s guest speaker is Darren Everest who was exhibiting at the Chelsea Flower Show last week.

Darren grows and exhibits dahlias, sweet peas, chrysanthemums, and daffodils so is busy all year sowing, growing, and preparing for shows.

He started by showing dahlias then followed in his Dads footsteps by growing a few sweet peas to enter in his local Summer Show.  He then progressed to the Kent County Show and in 2023 his first Chelsea exhibit of sweet peas.

So, if you are thinking of entering our Summer Show this year come and pick up some tips on growing prize-winning blooms and how to display them.

Welcome to our friendly society

We are a small welcoming society run by our members for our members and encourage like minded people to come along to our monthly talks or join in one of our shows (see the menu items).  Our talks cover a wide range of subjects and sometimes stray from pure horticulture into wildlife and interests which may have an impact on our gardens.

You don't need a garden or to be an expert, just have an interest in horticulture as our talks are informal and relaxed.  We welcome all to share in our enthusiasm and interest.

Our Constitutional purpose is to promote and further horticultural interest by holding meetings and talks, staging shows, competitions and exhibitions, and to be affiliated to like-minded organisations.

For Information on our programme of talks, our shows and outings, please see our Programme page

We are affiliated to The Royal Horticultural Society and The British Fuchsia Society.

We are also members of The Hampshire Federation of Horticultural Societies
