Farringdon Playground
At the July 2025 Farringdon Parish Council meeting the proposal was approved to order new equipment for the playground. It was felt that there was a lack of equipment for both Toddlers and Older Children. As a result, the Zip-wire was removed to make way for a rotating see-saw / mini trampoline / balance poles and basket swing. We also removed the roundabout and replaced it was a Toddler climbing frame, and lastly we removed a single springer and replaced it with the 'Turtle' springer for up to 4 children to use together. This was installed in September 2025 at a cost of £30,000 (plus VAT).
At the May 2026 meeting it was proposed to upgrade the existing older children's climbing frame at a cost of just under £9,000 (excl. VAT). This was to be funded by the VAT return 2025/25. Works have been ordered and as soon as we know the date we will let you know - (short closure of playground).
Once this has all been completed we will be asking for volunteers to help clean all the equipment in the playground.
Works agreed are for the Older Children's climbing frame:
- new straight slide
- removal of rigging and centre pole
- relocation of new climbing wall, removal of balcony (climbing wall's new location)
- suspension bridge linking slide / fireman's pole
The swing legs also received a paint job - in Funky Frog
