Annual Governance & Accountability Return (AGAR)

The Annual Governance and Accountability Return is the document through which parish councils formally report on their financial management and internal controls at the end of each financial year. It comprises an internal audit report, an annual governance statement signed by the council, and an accounting statement. As a smaller authority, Guiting Power Parish Council is subject to external audit oversight through Appointed Auditor under the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014. Each year the council publishes its completed AGAR, the external auditor's certificate, the public notice of the period for the exercise of public rights, and the notice of conclusion of audit.
