Villagers' Reminiscences of Old Halling

Halling Historical Society is pleased to give villagers the chance to tell of their reminiscences of Halling of past days, of growing up in the village before 1980, and of changes in the village over the years. These reminiscences are in their own words. Many are from folk who were born in the village and have lived here their whole lives.

Did you live in Halling prior to 1980? If so, you probably have your own memories of what the village was like before the expansion that it is now. What shops and trades can you recall from then? Tell us about characters you remember. If you were at school what did you get up to growing up in the village? What changes in the village have you lived through?

You can submit your memories in writing, with photos, by audio recording, or in a video; however you please. The Society reserves the right to edit in length if necessary. This is not a site for photos only, but stories can include photos and videos. Photos or videos only should continue to be posted to the popular 'Photos of Old Halling' Facebook page (see links from home page)..
