TYPES OF MEETINGS
Full Council Meetings are public meetings of the full council and take place monthly (except August). Their purpose is to make decision.
Committee Meetings are also public meetings, which bring together a smaller number of councillors to concentrate on a specific function of the council and share the workload. The standing committees have limited powers of decision making.
Working Parties or ‘Task and Finish’ Groups are set up for a short term purpose and are not subject to the strict rules that apply to formal council meetings and do not make decisions but explore options for council to consider.
