The Queen’s Green Canopy in Hartlip
The Queen’s Green Canopy was a nationwide initiative created to mark the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022.
The Queen’s Green Canopy aimed to create a living legacy with over a million trees planted in Her Majesty’s name across the nation.
The first planting season, October 2021 to March 2022 was extended to take in the planting season October 2022 to March 2023 after Her Majesty’s passing in September 2022.
The Queen’s Green Canopy initiative was intended to build on the legacy of Her Majesty and serve as a lasting tribute to the extraordinary service given to her country and her people.
An interactive map was created by The Queen’s Green Canopy to showcase the planting projects across the United Kingdom and serve to provide a record of the project for generations to come.
Hartlip features on this map with the site of ‘The Queen’s Seven Oaks’ marked.
