The fortnightly garden waste collections will be temporarily suspended in Basingstoke and Deane owing to bin crew staff absences.

The temporary suspension will take effect from Monday 10 January and will enable crews to prioritise the weekly waste and recycling collections where there is currently a backlog from the Christmas and new year period.
Basingstoke and Deane Boroigh Council understand that this will be frustrating for some of their customers and apologise for the inconvenience.
The staffing situation will be regularly reviewed and the service will restart when the council is confident that Serco can resume a reliable service.
Garden waste subscriptions will be extended to cover the missed collections, meaning that service users will get the full number of collections that they have paid for in the year.
Real Christmas trees can be disposed of at one of the council’s 22 recycling points or at the Household Waste and Recycling Centre. For more information visit BDBC's website: https://www.basingstoke.gov.uk/gardenwaste
