N Hants Cost of Living Forum

This page is for people running frontline organisations providing services in North Hampshire

The cost-of-living crisis will need more than just money to get people through the winter and 2023. Many people will rely on support from local voluntary and frontline organisations. Those organisations themselves are likely to be stretched for funding and resources. Here are some local places to look for funding and other support.

Recruiting Volunteers

Basingstoke Voluntary Action offers advice on recruiting volunteers and a service to advertise voluntary positions and match them with applicants. See their website or contact vc@bvaction.org

 

Fundraising

NEW: Community Fund. A fund to cover operating expenses for new Cost of Living projects, launched by a partnership between Greenham Trust and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

Hampshire County Council has funds available to set up warm hubs (up to £5000). See https://www.hants.gov.uk/News/20221020LeadersGrants

Basingstoke Borough Councillors each have funds available to grant to local organisations (up to £1000). For the Tadley North, Kingsclere and Baughurst ward they are:

Kingsclere Parish Council donates small grants of up to £250 to organisations in the Parish. See the guide and application form 

Greenham Trust can match approved funds, effectively doubling your efforts. In north Hants they cover part of Basingstoke & Deane’s area, best described as an area from Tadley in the east to St Mary Bourne in the west with the northern fringe of Basingstoke being the southern boundary. Citizens Advice in Tadley may be able to refer their clients to your services. Contact admin@catadley.org

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council has a list of support groups on their website. See www.basingstoke.gov.uk/cost-of-living-support. Contact B&DBC to get added to their list.

Should you want it, there are banners available from Hampshire CC to advertise a Warm Hub, which you could display outside.
