Paignton Torbay Bowling Club is situated in the middle of the English Riviera in Torbay, Devon just 200 yards from the fabulous Paignton Sands and just yards away from the shopping area, along with the mainline Train and Bus stations. Paignton Torbay Bowling Club was founded in 1920 and is affiliated to Bowls England and Bowls Devon.
Everyone is welcome to join our club, whatever their age, gender, race or ethnicity.
It is a mixed club and has a ladies and men's section. The club has about 100 members, which means that unlike several other local clubs, with more members, you are normally able to play a roll up on the Green when you want, or more likely to be selected for representative matches against the other clubs. Sometimes small really is best ! We welcome new members of all ages to either play the game or become social members. The Club has social events that are held throughout the year.
Our playing surface is maintained with our own green keepers in association with Devon Garden Machinery. D.G.M. Ltd
The Club can host the Devon County Association matches, and the Devon County, Section 6, will use the green to play the their competition knockout rounds, semi final and finals games.
We offer bowling to suit all preferences, from friendly social bowls such as roll-ups and club days, and friendly matches against other clubs.
For the more competitive player there are the local leagues. Our own internal club competitions and there is the opportunity to enter into the County and National Level games.
The club is represented in various Devon County Competitions along with the Men’s Mid Devon League, The men's Over 55’s triples league (2 teams) and the Ladies in the South Devon League plus the Riviera mixed Triples league
We extend a warm welcome to Touring Bowls Clubs. So if you are thinking of organising a Bowls Tour in the Torbay area then the Paignton Torbay Bowling Club is an ideal venue for a match.
Our green can provide games for seven rinks. There is a bar and WiFi. We can provide, on request, catering facilities all at very competitive prices.
There are many local Hotels along with B & B’s, and with many Devon Pubs and Restaurants, this makes Paignton it an ideal location for a Club Tour to consider to use as the base for their visit.
