It is with deep sadness that the Officers & committee of the Portsmouth & District Bowling Association have to announce the passing of Derek Morgan. Derek was a long standing member of the P&D management team being President in 2012 and more recently Competition Secretary. Derek was a very loyal club member at Bridgemary Bowls Cub,and has been with the club on and off over the past 30 years, he has served in many positions, and as President at the club.

Derek loved his bowls and over the years had won many of the top competitions held through the south.

Martin Docherty, Bridgemary President said, “I have only known Derek for a few years, and the time I had spent with him, I had found him an interesting man, with alway a story of his past games he had played. Derek was never far away from bowling the bowling green.

He was very involved with the P&D which he enjoyed,

Derek was a quiet man and liked his own company. That was Derek,

I know he will be sadly missed by us all at Bridgemary.”

Derek Morgans funeral will be at Portchester crematorium at 1030 on Tuesday 28 November followed by a wake at the Seagull PH.

P&D members are welcome and if you could let Peter Cooper at Bridgemary BC know, if possible, how many may attend as that would be helpful for the family to advise the Seagull re catering.

The P&D committee would like to extend their condolences to Derek’s family & friends at this sad time.

Rest in Peace Derek.
