In November 2025, a large group of members and guests attended a concert at Glive in Guildford enjoying a performance from the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra playing Mozart's Overture of Magic Flute, Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No2, and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No 5. The piano was played by Freddy Kempf who started his career with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of eight.
Film buffs will have recalled that the Rachmaninov piece was featured in the 1947 film Brief Encounters as well as other films. Pop fans will recall that the melody from the same piece was given some words in Eric Carmen's 1975 hit All By Myself. Later sung by Celine Dion, Shirley Bassey, Il Divo.
