Theatre Trips

Fifty of us went by coach to the Chichester Festival Theatre in August 2022 to see Crazy For You, an American musical with music by George and Ira Gershwin. We arrived in time for a bit of lunch before the show. And what an energetic show! With great music and catchy tunes, pretty colourful costumes, excellent staging and amazing choreography, who could ask for anything more?

In July 2022 around 50 of us visited the Theatre Royal Brighton to see the musical Waitress. Our first trip to the theatre since the pandemic this joyful production centred on the numerous relationships surrounding a waitress in a pie shop. Highly entertaining!

September 2019 we visited the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton to see J B Pristley's An Inspector Calls. It must be on the GCE syllabus this year as an English Classic as the audience was also filled with a very large number of schoolchildren from many different schools. Their audience participation certainly enhanced the performance!

February 2019 saw around 50 of us visit the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford to see The Classic Thriller Company present The Lady Vanishes. Based on Alfred Hitchcock's 1938 film, much of the action takes place on a train with much movement from one carriage to another. Very well done by an excellent cast.
