Container and Stock Transfer
This was a big day for us and, as it turned out a very long one! The day commenced with laying temporary track panels to move the two locos (Patricia and Nevada) and carriages onto. Then Rob Parrish kindly provided his HIAB plus a tractor and trailer. First the 40' Container was lifted onto the trailer. The tractor towed this to the new site followed by Rob in his HIAB to unload the container onto full size Concrete Sleepers at the new site. The tractor and trailer then departed having completed their work.
Whilst part of the team set about laying some temporary track panels to the container at its new location, the rest concentrated on loading the stock onto the HIAB. Both locos and then the two carriages were transferred. Finally all the remaining track panels and points were transferred by the HIAB. At about 7pm that evening, some 12 hours after we started, we finally locked all the stock away in the re-positioned container!
