Earth Works

The first soil was dug in May 2014. The 30" wide by 9" deep trench was dug mostly by Ben in his and borrowed Mini Diggers with Brian in his Dumper on hand to remove the spoil. The rest of the gang were on hand to check the trench alignment and depth plus generally tidying up and helping with spoil removal. In addition to the track bed two drainage ditches were dug at the lowest point of the line. The station, container and yard plus headshunt areas were also dug out to a similar depth.
