Wkly report 26/7 - Walden A’s still in the hunt for league title
Saffron Walden Town Bowling Club
A 5-3 win against Thaxted kept the Town’s A team bowlers in touch with the Division A leaders and with five games to go there is all to play for. In a very tight contest the aggregate scores were level but the home side gained the extra points by winning on two of the three rinks.
In Division B the Town’s B team had a convincing 7-1 win against Thaxted moving them into third place in the division.
The Essex & Herts Seniors had games on Tuesday and Thursday drawing one and losing the other. In the SBBL the Friday IX met their match against Steeple Bumpstead.
On the Sunday a group of Walden players travelled to Risbygate to play a friendly and won the closely fought contest.

You can get to Abbey Lane either at the traffic lights on the high street or from going down Gibson Way and turning left at the end. You enter a single lane part of the road and once you have passed the King Edward Almshouses on your right you will see a car park, also on your right, and then the clubhouse.
