Bowls England - Family Pairs Competition

This competition comprises 32 county based areas, each area will play down to an area winner. All 32 area winners will advance to the All England Round.

South Cliff’s Pair - Steve & Richard Lonnia faced their first match in this event, playing against Tom & Kathryn Murphy of Pickering.

On a chilly afternoon, the match saw South Cliff open a 5-3 lead after 4 ends, from this point the Lonnias began to dominate opening up a 25-3 lead after 11 ends, the highlight being on end 10 where on the final wood a one down became five up following a superb wood by Steve. The remaining ends were more closely fought with the Murphys edging these ends 6-5.

The match was played in an excellent spirit and featured some very high quality bowling which was enjoyed by the spectators. The Lonnias progress to the next round - winning 30 to 9. In the next round they will play Stephen Stoakes and his partner from Holderness BC in Hull on Friday 31st May at 6:30pm at South Cliff Bowling Club. Your support is most welcome.
