Chairman v Secretary match

The traditional end of season match took place despite an unexpected downpour prior to the start. Despite unavailability due to injury/illness we managed to field six teams. The aim was for each of the three teams representing the Chairman to play each team representing the Secretary. Each match lasted around 40 minutes.

The matches were played in a good spirit with the weather improving steadily. Following the competition players enjoyed a splendid meal organised by Wendy. The much awaited result was announced after the meal. The Secretary prevailed 44 shots to 38. The top scoring rink were unbeaten, scoring 24 shots in their three matches. The team, featured 12 year old Louis at number 1 who played exceptionally well, followed by Gill and skipped by John R. They each received some chocolates. The booby prize for the lowest scoring rink was also won by the Secretary’s team of Sheila & Wendy.

With the season behind us we now start getting the green ready for next season; scarifying starts on Monday.
