The event saw 10 pairs play for 2 hours or 21 ends. With a preliminary round it was possible that to reach the final you would face over 60 ends or 6 hours bowling. Thankfully the high temperatures of Monday had been replaced by somewhat cooler weather and the threat of rain.

The morning started with two sets of pairs took to the rinks seeking to qualify for the quarter finals. There was some excellent bowling but in the end Shirley & Joanne together with Pam & Marlene made it through to the quarter finals.

Again the quarter finals saw some excellent bowling with the stand out match being Shirley & Joanne v Pat & Marlene. After some superb woods Pat & Marlene ran out winners by 22-18

The semi-final draw pitched Pat & Marlene against Pam & Angela. The other semi saw Heather & Sandra take on Brenda & Heather.

Both semis saw some excellent bowling and both were very close. Brenda & Heather were leading 20-17 after 19 ends. They then conceded a 5 and eventually lost 20-23 to Heather & Sandra. Meanwhile, playing their third match of the day (involving over 60 ends) Pat & Marlene were tied 19 apiece entering the 21st end. Angela & Pam recorded a 2 to win 21-19. In all a very tense pair of semis enjoyed by the spectators.

Many thanks to everyone from South Cliff who took on various roles to ensure the day ran smoothly - caterers, umpire, time keeper/whistle blower, organiser, and green team.
