When We Play

We play every Saturday afternoon from 2.00pm in the summer. We start with a singles match followed by a pairs/triples match, both of which count towards our Club League, except for the first Saturday of each month when we play a three round Open Melee - the first round result counting towards the Club League.

We also provide coaching on Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm to anyone wishing to learn the basics or to hone their skills. Our Club Coach, Dave Hancox, will provide the boules and tuition.

How to Join Us

We welcome newcomers to join us for our Saturday sessions to find out more about the game or just to enjoy friendly competition against our club regulars.These are Open events, to allow any villagers or interested parties from our area to join in on a ‘come & try’ basis. So why not come and join us for a game. We can provide boules and tuition in the sport. You can play for up to five occasions to try out the game and get to know us before you need to commit to joining the club.

We also play league games on Wednesday nights during the Summer months when you can see some of the Heart of England's top players in action.

The adult membership fee is £15 for 2024, junior membership (i.e.under 16s) is £7 and over 65s pay £8. If you wish to join  Petanque England through our club, you can do so for subscription of £33. Juniors will be automatically registered with PE free of charge

Saturday Open Melees 
Open Melees will take place throughout the year on the first Saturday of each month, with registration at 13.30pm during the Summer. Entry is £3 per person with wine as prizes.

Summer League
The 2024 Summer League started on Saturday 6th April 2024  and continues as the first (singles) and second game on each of our Saturday Clubs through to the end of September 2024. 

Saturday Club 
We play every Saturday afternoon from 2.00pm during the Summer to provide club members and their friends/guests with a convenient playing opportunity. These are Open events, to allow any interested parties from our area to join in on a ‘come & try’ basis. So why not come and join us for a game. We can provide boules and tuition in the sport.
