2025-26 Accounts
Sutton-on-Trent Parish Council is funded by an annual payment or precept from Newark and Sherwood District Council. The Parish Council must prepare a budget each year which will cover all necessary expenditure and ask the District Council for this money in the form of the precept. This precept is collected by the District Council via the Council Tax and is paid to the parish council in two six-monthly sums.
On an annual basis, the Parish Council has to prepare certain documents to comply with legislation and submit them for internal audit and then for external review by an appointed auditor, PKF Littlejohn.
The accounts for the financial year ending 31st March 2026 were formally approved by the Parish Council at an extraordinary meeting of the Parish Council on Monday, 29th June 2026, following the completion of the internal audit, and submitted for external review.
The period of public rights will run from Wednesday, 1st July to Tuesday, 11th August 2026.
