Many of our members will know Andrew Sully of Watchet BC, Andrew is a regular member of Somerset's Middleton Cup team. Andrew's father, Derek, is a stalwart of Williton BC, Andrew played for Williton for many years before moving to Watchet.

Andy had a terrible accident on Wednesday 10th July.

Working in a loft Andy fell through the roof and devastatingly broke his neck. He is still in intensive care in Southmead Hospital, Bristol. He may be about to be transferred to Salisbury District Hospital Spinal Treatment Centre where it is feared his recovery could take many months. On a positive note, he has found some feeling in his arms and hand, though not in his legs.

As you may know, Andy is self-employed and has a young family to support.

The West Somerset Bowls League officials have decided to suggest that all participating clubs hold a bucket fundraiser this Thursday 25th July. This will be held during the post-match supper. The League will ensure all funds raised are given to Andy and his family to help support them through this incredibly difficult time.

Watchet BC are going to raise funds by running a tournament on Sat 7th Sept. Should you be interested I suggest you contact them for details which we don't currently have.

If you would like to contribute but are not playing on Thursday please either leave a donation, clearly marked, in the treasurer's box, or speak to Jay, Roland or Bill.
