We have heard from Uffculme that their green is unlikely to be fit to play on for several weeks, as a result the mixed friendly fixture due to be played at Uffculme on Sunday 21st April will now be played in Wellington. We will visit Uffculme on Saturday 14th September.

The away mixed friendly scheduled to be played at Victoria Park on Friday 19th April is cancelled as their green is unfit.

I've uploaded the updated fixture list to this website.

Members may be aware that Uffculme are not the only local club to delay the start of the season. North Petherton have delayed theirs by two weeks.

We still hope to open our green on Saturday (regardless of the weather the event will go ahead).

Members will be briefed by the Greenkeeper on ways of mitigating damage to a soft green early in the season. This includes moving the mat up and down the rink to avoid the same impact point each end, and being careful about delivering your bowl to ensure it doesn't bounce onto the green in front of you.
