Our Volunteers
Achieving the aims of Blooming Westgate has relied almost wholly on volunteers – to grow annual wildflowers from seeds, to fill the planters and beds, and to water and maintain the plants as they thrive and grow.
We are delighted to offer our thanks to the following volunteers, who have joined our working party members to plant, water and maintain flowers in the town planters and war memorial beds:
- Jenny Armstrong
- Ken Armstrong
- Helen Clift
- Phoebe Cullingworth
- Zoe Rebekkah Smith
- Irene Thompson
- Ian Venables
We would also like to recognise the wonderful Westgate-on-Sea traders who have promised to keep the planters watered and help with our plant maintenance.
- Bake and Alehouse (Glen)
- Borgyn and Bakes (Nicola)
- Budget Bazaar (Caroline and Kim)
- Crumb and Deli (Kirsty)
- Paul’s Bar & Bistro (Paul and Donna)
- Piggy Bank Nursery (Tracy and Ellie)
- Prentis Greengrocer (Abbi, Amelia, Ava and Sophia)
- RSPCA charity shop (Bernadette, Natalie and Julie)
- Shelter charity shop (Anna)
- Style Icon (Becca, Claire, Kirsty Leona, Louise, Lyla and Melissa)
- Westgate Galleria (Sarah – who has worked tirelessly to support the project)
And a special thank you must go to the dedicated community members of the Blooming Westgate Working Party who have helped grow, plant and coordinate our activities.
- Debbie Barnfather
- Nicola Jefcoate
- Mara Longley
- Sarah Ogilvy
- Stephen Verger
- Mike Wiseman
Would you like to volunteer to help maintain our plants? We still need volunteers to water and maintain the war memorial beds. It’s a simple process that takes about 20 minutes.
Better still, why not become a Westgate Community Champion by filling in the form and joining our volunteer group.
