Wroxeter & Uppington Parish Council
The Parish centres around the villages of Wroxeter and Uppington, and includes the hamlets of Rushton, Charlton Hill, Donnington, Eyton and Dryton.
The Atcham Industrial Estate, located 3 km north east of Atcham, is also within the Parish. The Parish lies mainly between the River Severn and the old A5 and stretches from Atcham to the Wrekin. The PDF map (linked below) shows the Parish boundary and features.
Wroxeter is the largest settlement and contains a scheduled monument under the control of English Heritage, which attracts a considerable number of tourists.
Virtually no residential development has taken place in recent years and the Parish Council believes there is little scope for further housing, apart from the possible conversion of suitable redundant farm buildings.
None of the villages has any local services, but the Parish is halfway between the well-served towns of Shrewsbury and Wellington.
It has been proposed in the past that Uppington should have Conservation Area status, but this has been ruled out by local residents.
