Multevo Ltd, on behalf of Shropshire Council, are planning to carry out essential carriageway repairs on Wood Green Jct. To Upper Farm Jct, Rushton (Section 1-3). These works will be completed with a Road Closure in place from Wednesday 24th June to Wednesday 1st July between the hours of 09:30am – 16:00pm, excluding weekends.
Please note that planned roadworks are subject to change due to weather conditions, or unforeseen circumstances.
Access Information During Road Closure:
Please be advised of the following access arrangements during the road closure:
Essential Highway Personnel – Full access will be maintained at all times.
Emergency Service Vehicles – Will be granted priority access through the closure.
Residents and Local Businesses – Access to properties and business premises within the closure area will be maintained. However, please note there may be minor delays at times to ensure the safety of both residents and our workforce.
Additionally:
- Closure points will be adjusted where possible to minimise disruption.
- If a property or business falls within the closure points on a particular day, access will be permitted.
- If a property or business is outside the closure points, the designated diversion route will need to be followed.
Advance notice signs, advising of the forthcoming closure, will be erected prior to work starting, and a fully signed diversion route will be place for the duration of the works. Letters will also be issued to the local residents and businesses that will be impacted.
Please be mindful that access can only be provided for properties/businesses within the closure. Should this cause any problems or concerns then please do not hesitate to get in contact.

Poppy Appeal - Volunteers Needed
The Parish Council has been contacted by the British Legion to see if there is anyone who might want to volunteer to distribute and collect boxes and tins for the poppy appeal this year. Below is a list of the locations a box and collecting tin needs to go to. Volunteers will need to go through some training and get signed up officially. Broadband - Project Gigabit: Update Premises in Wroxeter & Uppington Parish Council that don’t have current/planned full-fibre broadband coverage are included in Lot 25C, covering East & South Shropshire. According to the latest update from Openreach, their roll-out of full-fibre broadband is expected to be completed in the next 12 months in the Wroxeter area (Cross Houses exchange) and 12-24 months in the Uppington exchange area. Openreach has planned roadworks on the B5061 to the east of Norton crossroads at the beginning of next month.
