Our Two-Wood Open Competition was held on Sunday 21 July, which was a glorious warm and sunny afternoon.  A total of 26 members entered the Competition, watched by a further 16 family members and friends who joined us for the afternoon tea.  The Two-Wood Open is a knock-out competition of limited-end matches, open to ladies and gentlemen.  First and second round losers were entered into a Consolation Competition.  After some seriously competitive bowling, the winner was Franco Napoletano and the Runner-Up was Ray Higgins.  Winner of the Consolation Competition was David Thackwray and the Runner-up was Jack Burgess.

During the afternoon there was a traditional strawberry tea, with everything but the strawberries provided by members, who excelled themselves with a truly delicious range of savouries, desserts and cakes!  Our thanks to everyone who attended, supplied food and helped on the day, for making it such an enjoyable afternoon.  Our especial thanks to Gerry Tredgett for organising the competition.
