St Mary's Concert Raise Over £420 for Ukraine
Bleasby Parish Council
On Palm Sunday the Trent Churches Choir gave a concert in St Mary’s Church to a very responsive audience. Among the pieces performed were a number composed by John Marsh, the 18th century composer who designed and owned the organ which now is in our church. It may have been the first time an anthem of his was sung in Bleasby.
We were honoured to have the Minster’s Rector Chori, Paul Provost, to play the organ for us, along with our Director, Michael D’Avanzo, the current Organ Scholar.
There were no tickets, entry was free, however the retiring collection for the DEC Ukraine Appeal amounted to over £420.
Thanks to all those people who participate and to those who supported us.
Barbara Cast, for the Trent Churches Choir.
