Support & Home Activities During COVID
We were pleased to announce that BOSP re-opened face-to-face services Monday 27th July 2020 following the initial lock-down. Please see 'Re-Starting sessions during COVID-19' for details of what to expect.
We understand that life has been very difficult for all of our BOSP families and their children/young people. Lock-down and then transitioning your child back into respite or school can be very tricky, so if you are feeling anxious, stressed or feeling that you cannot cope, please do pick up the phone and call The BOSP Office on 01268 553117 or the BOSP mobile on 07901 858457.
We will listen and try to help, and if necessary help you get support via the community hubs and Essex Welfare Service which have been set up during the COVID-19 crisis to provide a variety of support, from help walking dogs, collecting medication or shopping to referrals for young people with mental ill-health.
We also are delivering Counselling services for individuals, couples, siblings and if apprpriate the young person with the additional need. Please see below or our Parent/Carer Services page for more details.

On-line group Music Therapy
We have had great feedback about the group Music Therapy we have been delivering - it has been a great chance for children and young people to see their friends.
To supplement our smaller face-to-face groups during COVID-19, we shall continue to deliver our on-line Music Therapy.
NEW, Counselling - support in the comfort of your own home!
BOSP is now able to offer Family Counselling to BOSP families, thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund supporting our pilot project.
This being our 30th year of supporting families, BOSP truly understands the challenges of caring for a child or young person with a
disability or life-limiting illness, the effects it can have on the entire family and the impact having a disability can have on an
individual’s self-esteem and well-being.
BOSP is now able to offer counselling sessions with a qualified Psychological Therapist/Integrative Counsellor. Sessions are available for parents or carers who have a child or young person with a disability, siblings (young carers), grandparents or the child/ young person with the disability or life-limiting illness.
Initially sessions will take place via Zoom from the comfort of your own home or office, but can move to face-to-face sessions in Basildon when possible. (Please be assured that sessions via Zoom will not be recorded). Please get in touch... Sessions are greatly subsidised thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund. If you would like to register your interest in this service, please call The BOSP Office on 01268 553117 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
