The Bat and Trap match 2024 went ahead on one of the hotest days of the year.

The contestants and the 'supporters' looked for the shady areas between games and enjoyed the refreshments from the bar. The heat was too much, so the number of games was reduced to avoid exhaustion.

The winners were Mary, Anne, Rebecca, Roy T, Brian M , Chris L, Bill and Dave C

Man of the match was Chris Lane who won both best bowler and best batsman and received the coveted award mugs made and donated by Dave Chapman. For anyone winning both trophies, there was a hand crafted teapot, also from the kiln of Dave, and this was also presented to Chris. Well done!

Thanks go to all the helpers on the day and a special thank you to Phil Philpot who worked hard arranging and enrolling people, to ensure this event went ahead. To Ron Piper who did a fantastic job getting the pitch ready for play. The bar was manned by NIgel Dawkins and the whole event was ushered through by Jan Weatherley.

More photos of the day will be on the website soon.
