The final short mat competitions of the season were held in the club house on Sunday 26th March. This was the men's and woman's singles competitons.

From early on in both mens and ladies, some big names and favourites fell. The last time this competiton was held was before covid hit, and only one of the finalists last time made it to the final this year. For the men in the final, both Nigel Dawkins and Trevor Lyons swept away their opponents and previous winners, to face each other on the faster mat. Trevor demonstrated his prowess on this mat and came in as the well deserved victor of this tournament.

For the ladies, former captain Brenda Graham sent her opponents bowls out of contention to reach the final against Linda Prior, who was runner up the last time this competiton was held. This time she pushed hard to get to the final and won through, to take the title this year.

We would like to thank everyone involved in this tournament, especially Bob Holiday the organiser and all the officials and helpers on the day.

The club now looks forward to the outdoor season and details of matches and competitons will soon be on display in the club house and the web site.
