We had a quiet week seeing our first match with the ladies hosting Canterbury in the Heron league on Wednesday. The weather was perfect as our ladies’ show-cased the green by winning on both rinks and overall. Boughton 49. Canterbury 29.

Winning rinks: Gwen Brown, Liz Chapman and Mary Mellett won 25-17

Lena Rogers, Anne Cousins and Linda Prior won 24-12

Club competitions and county matches took up most of the rest of the week, but the weather rained off the Friday night league. The well-attended race night was also held at the club house on the Saturday. A really good turnout helped fuel club funds by nearly £200 .

On Sunday, the club hosted Thanet in a Catherine Wheeler match. The sun shone as Thanet showed off their county and national players to win by 35 points. Boughton 91. Thanet 126.

Winning rink: Tim Prior, Anne Cousins and Phil Philpot won 19-15.

Dont forget the Bat and Trap which is coming up on 15th June. Full details on the club notice board where you should book in advance to play.
