Bovey Tracey Bowling Club was formed in 1911 and is one of the oldest bowling clubs in Devon.
The club is affiliated to Bowls England, Bowls Devon, Mid Devon Bowling League and the South Devon Ladies Bowls League.
The club is situated in the recreation ground on the outskirts of Bovey Tracey which is known locally as the gateway to Dartmoor. It is ideally positioned with ample parking for visiting bowlers and small touring sides. Renowned for its friendliness, the club attracts members from Bovey Tracey, surrounding villages and neighbouring towns.
Throughout the summer season (April until September) the club plays a host of friendly fixtures plus league matches for both men and ladies. In addition several members partake in county competitions. During the winter months the club has a number of friendly matches at indoor clubs in the area and roll ups at a local hotel, and an active Social Committee organises a varied social programme.
The club is always pleased to welcome new members of all ages either experienced bowlers or those wishing to try bowls for the first time. The club has a qualified coach to help.
At the end of April or the beginning of May each year, the club holds an Open Day for prospective members. This is advertised locally and on the club's website.
