Review of 2016 Season

At the sign on Coffee Morning we welcomed new members and our membership for 2016 was 43.

A fun day was had at the Opening of the Green on the 10th April.   This was followed on the 23rd with a pre-season friendly against North Scarle, Collingham won 86 / 61.

We again joined the village in the festivities at the May Fayre held on the Cricket Ground, to which we are adjacent.   We welcomed visitors to have a go at bowling, and our refreshments were well received - although ice creams were not at the top of people's list in view of the weather.

On August 13th a Closed Trips competition was won  by Robert Humphris, Mike Bates and Anne Coleman, with Mike Ellis, Mike Morton and Norma Clarke runners up.

Collingham  Bowls Club were proud winners of the Hickman Cup, winning the final 97-72 against Ransome.

At the Open Fours day on the 21st August, we were blessed by good weather with twelve teams from the Newark and Lincoln area.  The final being between the team of Steve Ayling, Nick Osborne, S. Rose and D. Rouse winning with the result of 12-6 against Patricia Lunn, Olwin Miller, David Lyon and Ralph Croft.

In September, following the presentation in appreciation of Bella Hallam's bequest to the club (see under Scrapbook) the Robert Humphris 51 up, singles competition took place which was won by Roger King with Keith Brummitt runner up.   Members enjoyed a light lunch provided by the Club.
