Match Reports

Match Report for the week ending Sunday 7th June

On Monday 2nd June Datchworth played a friendly fixture against Shire Park in-between thunder and lightning ⛈️. Datchworth won on three rinks and drew on the 4th winning 60 shots to 39. Steve Arnold inspired his team to be top rink with Howard Carrick and Dave Castle. 🙌

On the 4th June we played North Mymms in the WHBL. We weren’t able to repeat the success of the previous match and lost overall by 16 shots.

On Friday 5th June we made a trip over to St Albans to play Townsend in the first of two friendly matches against this club. We lost overall to Townsend but we did have a top rink led by Derek Henley with Alan Curtis and Bernadette Martindill winning by 12 shots.👌

The Datchworth Club 4's knockout rounds were held on Sunday 7th June 2026 and the weather was kind to us. My thanks to the players that stepped in at short notice. The draw for all the players resulted in very close games in the 4 games played with 3 games being won by a single shot.

The finalists are Les Parsley, Ian Bartlett. Jean Lyme and Dickie Jackson and they will be playing Keith Smith, Jan Smith, Roger Tomlinson and Barbara Williams

Well played to everyone else in making the games so competitive,

Jim Smith
