Plaque 5: Court Farm House
The plaque is on the wall of the farm shop, behind which is Court Farm House itself. Home to the farming family of the Linghams since 1871, parts of the Court Farm building date back to the 15th century. It was once renowned for its fine Elizabethan chimneys, but these collapsed in 1973 and the house was subsequently rebuilt without them. Court Farm was given Grade II listed building status in December 1991.
