Forge Green

In 2025 Halling Parish Council asked Halling Historical Society to research the background to Forge Green, the area of Halling Bottom around the war memorial in Kent Road. Using old ordnance survey maps and  census records, the Society has shown there was a blacksmiths there for almost 300 years from around 1630 to 1920; and blacksmiths were from the Oliver, Edwards, Crittenden and Brown families. The Society has designed an information board which the Parish Council is placing at Forge Green.
