Plaque 9: The Rose and Crown pub

The Rose and Crown Pub was built in the mid-19th century, as were many of the shops and houses in Halling at the time of the booming local cement industry. The pub used to be patronised by a team of local hand-bell ringers in the early 20th century, hence the sign outside saying ‘Bellringers Place’.
