Marden Cemetery
Although dogs are not allowed in the cemetery dog walkers are permitted to use the tarmac footpath between the two pedestrian gates allowing access to public rights of way along Maidstone Road. Please pick up any dog poo and take home with you or dispose in bins. Do not cut across the grassed area at the front of the graves.
Marden Parish Council owns the Cemetery situated in Maidstone Road. It has been open since 1932 and has had over 1600 burials and interment of ashes.
There are currently 4 areas:
Sections 1 & 2 - older part of the cemetery in which headstones and kerbstones are permitted - these sections are now full for new graves
Section 3 - section opened in 1993 in which only headstones are permitted however families are given permission to tend the plots to a maximum 2'6" x 6'. This area is now full for new graves
Section 4 - new section opened in 2022 - headstones only. Graves cannot be tended and all areas are maintained by the cemetery caretaker.
Section 4 (new section) - Cremated Remains section (which also includes the children's area)
