Marden Parish Council

MNP Consultation 9/6/18 - 21/7/18

Neighbourhood Plans are prepared by members of a community to guide the future development of their community.  Marden Neighbourhood Plan (MNP) has been developed over a number of years by the Parish Council and members of the community to create a forward looking vision for Marden.  Many of you will have attended open days held by MNP, read articles in the Parish Newsletter and seen us at events like Picnic in the Park where you have given us your views.  These have been taken into account in the formulation of our plan, along with the adopted Maidstone Borough Council Local Plan.  Once The Marden Neighbourhood Plan is adopted it will form part of the development plan that must be used when all planning decisions affecting Marden are made.

The final draft of the Plan has been produced and it's now your final chance to have your say before it is formally submitted for inspection.

The Plan contains policies about:
The countryside and natural resources;
The historic environment and the character of Marden's buildings;
Our shops and businesses;
Open Spaces and other amenities; and
Water Management

Once the plan is adopted these policies will guide all future developments (large or small) in Marden.  We now need you to give up your feedback on these policies.

You can read a full copy of the plan and obtain a comments form at the Parish Office, Marden Library, Marden Medical Centre, Marden Village Club, West End Tavern, The Unicorn, Marden Primary School, Marden Parish Church, Marden Congregational Chapel, The Vestry Hall, Marden Cricket & Hockey Club, Stanleys Garage, The Green Door, Little Eden, Marden Memorial Hall main hall foyer, West End Stores, Burtons Medical Equipment, Claygate, Appledown Grange Sales Office, Marden Children's Centre and Marden Bowls Club.

You can read and download a copy from here (see below) and also download a comments form.

We are also holding open sessions on Friday 13th July between 6pm and 8pm at the Parish Office and on Saturday 14th July between 9am and 12noon in the John Banks Hall, Marden Memorial Hall.  You are also more than welcome to call into the Parish Office on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays between 10am and 12noon - if you wish to call in at any other time please ring 01622 832305 in advance.

You can return completed consultation response forms to any of the shops or businesses listed above or if completed on line can be emailed to Ali at clerk@mardenkent-pc.gov.uk.

All comments must be in by 5pm on 21st July 2018.

We look forward to hearing from you.
