Speed Survey carried out in December 2025

Please see copies of the speed data attached from the surveys carried out on West Road, Horsley Road & Castle View. The data has been summarised in the table below.

Ovingham Parish Council Highways

The data shows that the average speeds of vehicles are traveling well below the existing 30mph speed limit across all three sites. In regard to the 85th Percentile, the 85th percentile is that speed at which 85% of vehicles are travelling or less, while the remaining 15% of vehicles will be travelling above that speed.  

Within a 30mph speed limit, the 85th percentile is required to be a minimum of 35mph for enforcement to be considered by the police.
