Stockbury Memorial Hall

Stockbury Memorial Hall is situated in the heart of the village on The Street and provides an important community venue for residents, local organisations, clubs and visitors.

It was built in 1959 in honour of the villagers who lost their lives serving their country during the First and Second World Wars. A commemorative wooden plaque within the hall records its dedication, and the Imperial War Museum War Memorials Register records Stockbury Parish Council as the plaque’s custodian. Both the hall and the playing field are held in trust for the community and have charitable status.

The main hall provides a flexible space suitable for meetings, celebrations, community events, clubs and other social occasions. Facilities include a stage, fully equipped kitchen and bar area, together with tables and chairs for up to 100 people. A separate committee room is also available and can accommodate meetings of up to 15 people.

Disabled access and accessible toilet facilities are available via the main entrance. Car parking is available to the front and rear of the hall for up to approximately 50 vehicles.

Playing Field

Alongside the Memorial Hall is a large playing field which forms another important part of the village's recreational facilities.

The field includes a cricket pitch and practice nets, together with a children's playground, and can be hired for sporting and recreational use. It is also available for caravan clubs and has welcomed visiting caravan groups to Stockbury for many years.
